The School
The school is divided between a Lower and an Upper School, and each has an average teacher/student ratio of 1 to 4. Classes run from 11.00 to 13.30 every Sunday. The Lower School is structured so that the children have the benefit of 50 minutes of teaching in Maths and English followed by an optional 30 minutes of Islamic Studies. The teaching in the Upper School is tailored to specifically meet the needs of the students; this includes 11-16 year olds Key stage 3 and GCSE Math’s and English and Science. The volunteers are also offered ad hoc training on teaching skills by qualified teachers working in the East London area. Term teaching dates coincide with school terms in NewhamThe Summer School
